New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended three candidates from the reserve list for appointment under the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2024, following a fresh requisition from the Ministry of Mines.

The main result of the examination was declared on December 23, 2024, with 69 candidates recommended for appointment in order of merit. In line with Rules 16 (iv) and (v) of the examination guidelines, the Commission had also maintained a consolidated reserve list.

Acting on the Ministry's request, the UPSC has now recommended one OBC candidate for the post of Geophysicist, Group 'A'/Scientist 'B' (Geophysics), and two candidates — one from the OBC category and one from the EWS category — for the post of Chemist, Group 'A'/Scientist 'B' (Chemical).

The list of selected candidates has been shared with the Ministry of Mines, which will directly contact them for further formalities.
