Advanced film editing program held at SA College

chennai: the department of visual communication, of sa college of arts and science in collaboration with the placement cell, hosted the value-added course 'the rhythm of cut' from december 16-20, 2024. the program began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and an inaugural session by renowned editor and director mr. b. lenin, who shared insights on editing techniques and industry trends. participants then explored montage editing with mr. jayachandran, filmmaking music integration, and were inspired by actress mrs. devyani rajkumar's motivational talk. percussionist mr. takkeshi conducted a hands-on workshop on sound editing. the course concluded with a short film screening, live editing demonstrations, and practical sessions using da vinci resolve. at the valedictory function, participants received certificates for their successful completion. the course equipped students with advanced skills in filmmaking and editing, enhancing their preparedness for future opportunities in the film industry.
