IIT-M Pravartak launches Cyber Commandos training program for Law Enforcement Officers

chennai: iit madras pravartak technologies foundation, in collaboration with the union ministry of home affairs, has launched a pioneering initiative to train law enforcement officers across india as 'cyber commandos,' equipping them to proactively combat cybercrime and safeguard national security.iit madras pravartak technologies foundation has introduced an advanced training program aimed at transforming law enforcement officers into 'cyber commandos.' this initiative, supported by the union ministry of home affairs, seeks to enhance india's cyber defense capabilities in response to escalating cyber threats.launched by prof. v. kamakoti, director of iit madras, alongside dignitaries such as dr. sandeep mittal, ips, adgp, cyber crime wing, tamil nadu, and col. arvind kumar, director of i4c, the program focuses on proactive cyber threat detection, prevention, and digital forensics. prof. kamakoti emphasized the importance of staying ahead of cyber threats in an increasingly digitized world.the six-month course, with 70% practical components, aims to equip police personnel with cutting-edge skills in cyber forensics and crime detection. industry visits and real-time case studies will further prepare officers to secure india's digital infrastructure against cyberattacks.with this initiative, india is strengthening its digital sovereignty and ensuring law enforcement is well-prepared to meet the challenges of the cyber age.
