MMC launches student mentorship program

chennai: madras medical college (mmc) inaugurated a new skill mentorship program designed to support mbbs students.through this new initiative, a professor or assistant professor will be appointed as a mentor for each group of 250 mbbs students. this program aims to address students' grievances, gather their opinions, and meet their expectations in line with the guidelines provided by the national medical commission.during the launch ceremony, the parents of the students were invited to discuss the program with the professors. e. theranirajan, principal, mmc highlighted that various welfare programs are being introduced to ensure the mental well-being of medical students. these include psychological counseling and grievance redressal activities.to ensure consistent attendance, mentors will personally inquire and resolve any issues if students do not attend classes regularly. additionally, training sessions will be provided to enhance students' skills.the principal expressed hope that many students will find trust and inspiration through the efforts of madras medical college.
