NCC cadets key to Viksit Bharat Vision, says Rajnath Singh

delhi: raksha mantri rajnath singh called upon ncc cadets to play a vital role in achieving prime minister narendra modi's vision of a developed india (viksit bharat) by 2047. speaking at the ncc republic day camp in delhi on january 20, 2025, he described cadets as india's assets, emphasizing their contribution to nation-building through leadership, discipline, and patriotism.highlighting pm modi's connection with ncc, rajnath singh remarked, “when an ex-ncc cadet envisions a developed india, it becomes a responsibility for all cadets to fulfill that dream.” he stressed the importance of societal progress and unity amid diversity in achieving development for all 1.4 billion indians.praising the cadets' dedication, the minister likened their diversity to india's unity. he cited major sandeep unnikrishnan's sacrifice during the 26/11 mumbai attacks as an example of leadership and resilience, qualities cultivated by ncc. he urged cadets to embrace continuous learning, adapt to change, and face challenges with confidence.the event included a guard of honour, award presentations, and cultural programs. outstanding cadets were honored with the raksha mantri padak and commendation cards. rajnath singh also reviewed innovative projects by cadets and visited thematic displays. dg ncc lt gen gurbirpal singh and senior officials were present.
