NIT Trichy hosts sensitisation programme on Learning Disabilities

tiruchirappalli: a two-day sensitisation programme on learning disabilities was inaugurated at nit tiruchirappalli on february 3, 2025, by director prof. g. aghila. organized by the office of learning support (ols), the initiative aims to enhance awareness and inclusivity for students with specific learning needs.prof. n. kumaresan, dean of faculty welfare, outlined the programme's objectives, emphasizing educators' role in supporting students. prof. aghila highlighted its alignment with nep 2020, which advocates inclusive education.dr. neethu george from dhanalakshmi srinivasan medical college discussed identifying learning disabilities, while dr. m. prabhavathi from bharathidasan university spoke on inclusive higher education. the event, coordinated by dr. v.k. karthika and dr. gideon kubendran, saw participation from ols chairperson dr. j. jerald and other faculty members. scheduled for february 3-4, 2025, the programme aims to equip nit-t faculty with the tools to foster an inclusive learning environment.
