Northern Uni along with Space Kidz for Student-Led Satellite Project

chennai: northern uni has announced the launch of its first student-led satellite project, in collaboration with space kidz india, providing students from sri lanka and india a unique opportunity to design, develop, and launch a satellite.incelebration of world space week, northern uni signed a groundbreaking mou with space kidz india, marking a major milestone in space education for the northern region of sri lanka. the partnership will see students from northern uni and jaffna region government schools join forces with their indian counterparts to design and launch a satellite.the project, led by northern uni, will be the first of its kind for jaffna's government school students. the satellite will carry advanced instruments to study the space atmosphere and demonstrate communication technologies.“this initiative is a giant leap for both sri lanka and india in fostering scientific collaboration and mutual innovation,” said mr. indy pathmanathan, chairman of sliit northern uni.dr. srimathy kesan, founder of space kidz india, emphasized the project's role in shaping future leaders in space science, noting its potential to inspire students to push boundaries.students will undergo extensive training in satellite technology, with hands-on experience during the satellite's construction and launch, preparing them for future careers in stem fields.
