80 percent fail FMGE!
approximately 80 percent of indian students who pursued medical education abroad face the challenge of clearing the foreign medical graduates examination (fmge), a screening test administered by the national board of examinations in medical sciences. the latest results from the december 2023 exam reveal a pass rate of only 20.57 percent.out of the 38,535 individuals who applied for the exam, a staggering 30,046 did not pass, and 1,386 abstained from taking the test. despite these numbers, it is worth noting a notable improvement compared to the previous june exam, where a mere 10.2 percent successfully passed. this signifies a significant increase in the success rate, indicating a positive trend for those attempting the fmge.
