Chidiyatapu Biological Park marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities

port blair: the chidiyatapu biological park, in collaboration with the education department of the andaman and nicobar administration, on wednesday organised a special educational and recreational programme to mark the international day of persons with disabilities.the event brought together children with special needs from various schools across the islands. more than 219 students, accompanied by teachers and caregivers, participated in the day-long activities.addressing the gathering, deputy director of the biological park meera nambiar appreciated the enthusiastic participation of schools and reiterated the park's commitment to inclusive learning. “the international day of persons with disabilities reminds us of our responsibility to create environments where every child feels welcomed, respected and valued,” she said.the programme included guided tours of animal enclosures conducted by the park's executive staff and interactive awareness sessions tailored to ensure comfort and engagement for all participants.park officials said the serene natural setting of chidiyatapu provided an ideal backdrop for students to explore wildlife and understand the island ecosystem in an atmosphere that was warm, supportive and inclusive.
