class ten mark sheets and school leaving certificates of at least 128 students of government higher secondary school in vaiyampatti near manapparai were reported 'mysteriously missing' much to the shock of the outgoing plus-2 students. district administration has now ordered a probe by revenue and education department officials. the mark sheets and school leaving certificates of 128 boys and girls who appeared for plus-2 examinations from arignar anna government higher secondary school had been reportedly kept in a bureau. when headmistress rajini angela opened the bureau on monday to distribute the certificates, she was shocked to find all the certificates 'missing'. subsequently, she enquired with assistant headmaster sridharan, watchman dhamodaran and other clerical staff in the school but to no avail. the students were distributed only their plus-2 marksheets. subsequently, headmistress rajini angela lodged a complaint at the vaiyampatti police station and informed the officials of the education department. based on the complaint, a police team led by manapparai dsp periyasamy, conducted an inquiry with the headmistress and assistant headmaster. angela who has applied for voluntary retirement has reportedly been on leave frequently. taking advantage of her absence, some one may have stolen the certificates, because of a factional feud between teachers in the school, a police official said and expressed hope that they would soon crack the case and bring the culprits to book. meanwhile, collector t.soundiah ordered a probe by the revenue and education department officials and assured to arrange for distribution of duplicate certificates to the students.
