CRC Andaman celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities, stresses early intervention and skill development
port blair: the composite regional centre for skill development, rehabilitation & empowerment of persons with disabilities (crc), andaman & nicobar islands, marked the international day of persons with disabilities on wednesday, highlighting early intervention and skill development as key tools for inclusive empowerment.smt. sumita, director, crc, welcomed the gathering and underlined the centre's ongoing commitment to strengthening rehabilitation services across the islands.the event was attended by dr. sachin shinde, commissioner-cum-secretary, health & persons with disability planning department, and shri parvesh ranjan jha, secretary, civil supplies and consumer affairs, as chief guests.dr. shinde emphasized the importance of timely medical and social interventions and the role of skill development in enabling children with special needs to become self-reliant and active contributors to society. shri jha appreciated crc's initiatives and called for continued collaboration to empower persons with disabilities through education, training, and community support.the programme concluded with cultural performances by special children, celebrating their talents and the spirit of inclusion.
