madurai: may, june are months of extreme stress for school students, ‘udhavi,’ a suicide prevention centre will offer free counselling for students and parents from may 23 till the end of june. according to dheep, founder of topkids and psychiatrist, the months of may and june are period of extreme stress for school students and parents as public examination results are released during this time.  statistics reveal that the number of suicide cases and attempts at suicide by adolescents show a steep raise during these two months, he says. in the past years our team of professional counsellors had handled more than 150 calls during these periods. ‘udhavi’ aims to  help the people in great distress and pull them back from their negative thinking at such critical times, says dr. dheep. parents, students or anyone else with stress, anxiety, tension, depression, suicidal thoughts etc. can call  ‘udhavi’ helpline at zero cost any part of the day or night from saturday till the end of june. the helpline numbers are: 98940-52543  98421-78739 98942-42543 99941-62999.
