NSO Marks Major Digital Milestones on Statistics Day; Reinforces Commitment to Viksit Bharat

new delhi: the national statistical office (nso), under the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (mospi), marked statistics day 2025 by highlighting major strides in its ongoing digital transformation journey. following the launch of the esankhyiki portal in 2024, the ministry has rolled out over a dozen digital platforms aimed at improving data collection and dissemination.key developments include the launch of di lab, ocms, and new portals for the national statistical commission (nsc) and national statistical system training academy (nssta). public-facing dashboards now provide real-time access to data from divisions like the annual survey of industries, economic census, and national sample survey, encompassing over 135 million records.mospi also announced the upcoming launch of the goistats mobile app. as part of innovation efforts, the ministry has piloted emerging tech solutions, completed three proofs of concept, and represented india at the unece conference on generative ai.to safeguard digital assets, a chief information security officer has been appointed and expert support onboarded. the transformation strategy, currently in its first phase, will next focus on enhancing data processing. the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to provide quality, timely statistics for evidence-based policy making towards achieving 'viksit bharat' by 2047.
