PU launches training on GeM, GFR and Administrative Procedures

puducherry: pondicherry university (pu) on saturday inaugurated a two-day training programme on government e-marketplace (gem) procurement, general financial rules (gfr), and administrative procedures, aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency in institutional governance.vice-chancellor prof. p. prakash babu inaugurated the programme, organized jointly by the university's computer centre and internal quality assurance cell (iqac), at the council hall. over 150 employees from various schools, departments, centres, and administrative sections participated.inhis inaugural address, prof. babu highlighted the significance of the gem portal and strict adherence to gfr in strengthening accountability and streamlining procurement processes. he commended the organisers, including mr. m. sundaramohan, ms. s. uthradevi, and mr. e. malan, for their efforts and encouraged the institution to continue such capacity-building initiatives regularly.prof. rajneesh bhutani, registrar (i/c), delivered the welcome address, underlining the university's commitment to equipping its staff with essential skills for efficient governance, including file noting, drafting, and procedural compliance.the session concluded with a vote of thanks by prof. s.k.v. jayakumar, head of the computer centre and department of computer science, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, and participants for their active engagement.the training is expected to strengthen administrative proficiency across the university and foster better compliance with national procurement and financial regulations, reflecting the institution's dedication to professional development and transparency in public administration.
