SIRC, SICASA of ICAI host AURA AI workshop for CA students
chennai: the southern india regional council (sirc) of the institute of chartered accountants of india (icai), along with sicasa of sirc, hosted a two-day workshop titled aura - ai understanding for rising achievers on december 13 and 14 to equip chartered accountancy students with skills in artificial intelligence and automation.conducted under the aegis of the board of studies (operations), icai, the workshop focused on practical, ethical and profession-specific applications of ai in finance, audit, taxation and advisory services. ca students from across the region participated in the immersive programme.the first day covered fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning, ethical use of ai tools such as ca-gpt, ai-assisted drafting of financial statements, and use cases in income tax, gst and audit. sessions also addressed ethical challenges, including bias, data integrity and professional responsibility.the second day focused on hands-on applications, including automation tools, ai-powered data visualisation, productivity enhancement, study planning and smart financial review workflows.as a key highlight, sirc and sicasa announced an all-india aura hackathon, open to ca students who attended the workshop. the competition will provide a national platform to apply ai tools to real-life accounting, audit and tax scenarios.the initiative was widely appreciated by students for its practical orientation and relevance to the evolving professional landscape.
