Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit 2025 Concludes

chennai: the tamil nadu global startup summit (tngss) 2025 concluded with a grand closing ceremony marked by the distribution of grants and the announcement of new initiatives aimed at accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship across the state.dr. j. jeyaranjan, vice chairman of the tamil nadu state planning commission, presented sanction orders worth ₹3.45 crore to 22 pre-incubation centres (₹7.5 lakh each) and 15 incubation centres (₹5 lakh each) under the startuptn scale-up grant scheme. he also handed over sanction orders to organisations selected under the startuptn venture builder scheme, designed to promote the creation of 25 dpiit-recognised startups in each supported organisation, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.speaking at the event, dr. jeyaranjan said tamil nadu's startup ecosystem is on the verge of a “major leap forward,” driven by the visionary initiatives of startuptn and the chief minister's goal of transforming the state into a $1 trillion economy by 2030. citing a report by the state planning commission, he said the target is “well within reach” due to structural reforms in education and a strengthened innovation ecosystem.“with continued focus and collaboration, tamil nadu's innovation-led development model will set new benchmarks for sustainable growth,” he added.thiru. sivarajah ramanathan, mission director and ceo of startuptn, was also present.the three-day summit, which drew delegates from 45 countries, featured 609 speakers (328 international and 281 national), 250+ investors, and over 1,000 exhibition stalls showcasing 750 tamil nadu startups. the event also hosted a 21-country global pavilion, 12 corporate pavilions, and 8 startup mission pavilions, highlighting the state's growing entrepreneurial strength.a total of 23 mous were signed with global partners including link innovations (france), techshake (philippines), asiaberlin forum (germany), unicorn incubator (south korea), rxn hub (canada), blue ocean, and lowe's india, reinforcing tamil nadu's international startup collaborations.over 250 investors participated in 500 pitch sessions, leading to ₹130 crore in committed investments, with more expected in the coming months. the summit also featured 11 masterclasses led by industry leaders from google, meta, phonepe, zoho, and the state planning commission.corporate innovation challenges launched by samsung, decathlon, and lowe's india, along with a corporate-startup mixer connecting 25 startups with major corporations such as nvidia, bosch, and daimler truck, underscored tamil nadu's growing role as a hub for global innovation and investment.
