Tourism Ministry, IHM Chennai launch cleanliness campaign
chennai: the ministry of tourism's southern regional office, in collaboration with the institute of hotel management (ihm), chennai, launched the "seachhta hi seva" campaign on october 2, 2024, promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness.the "seachhta hi seva" campaign was inaugurated with a cleanliness walk led by ihm chennai students through kanagam village. carrying placards promoting cleanliness, the students highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship.after the walk, 60 participants took the swachhata pledge, committing to a cleaner, greener india. this was followed by a campus-wide cleaning drive, led by students and faculty members.d. venkatesan, southern regional director, ministry of tourism, and ms. parimala ranjit, principal of ihm chennai, actively participated in the event. this initiative, part of special campaign 4.0 and aligned with the swachh bharat abhiyan, reaffirms the ministry's focus on environmental cleanliness and sustainability.
