UGC directs colleges to submit anti-ragging action plans

new delhi: the university grants commission (ugc) has directed all higher education institutions across the country to submit detailed reports on their anti-ragging action plans and the measures being implemented to curb the menace on campuses. in a recent circular, the ugc reiterated the mandatory formation of anti-ragging committees and squads, regular awareness campaigns, and the installation of cctv surveillance in hostels and common areas. institutions must also conduct orientation sessions for freshers and sensitisation programs for senior students. the move comes as part of the ugc's continued efforts to ensure a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free academic environment for students nationwide.
