Theni: The CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) Chennai and the CSIR Chennai Campus (CMC) jointly conducted a Jigyasa ATL workshop, a significant initiative under Atal Tinkering Lab Adoption and Mentoring, across four Government Higher Secondary Schools in Theni District, Tamil Nadu on September 4-5, 2024.
This event, held at Government Higher Secondary Schools in Okkaraipatti, Silamarathupatti, Koduvilarpatti, and Dharmapuri, engaged over 500 students and 30 teachers.
"Jigyasa," a major initiative launched by CSIR during its Platinum Jubilee Celebration Year, aims to enhance scientific social responsibility and enrich students' educational experiences by connecting them with scientists.
This program, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a new India, emphasizes extending classroom learning with practical, research-based insights.
The workshop featured a series of lectures and hands-on sessions led by prominent scientists from CSIR-SERC and CMC. Among the speakers were Dr. S. Maheswaran, Dr. A. Robert Sam, Dr. D. Kalpana, Shri A.K. Farvaze Ahmed, Dr. S. Sundar Kumar, Dr. T. Hemalatha, Shri E. Ashokkumar, and Shri R.D. Sathish Kumar.
The interactive sessions aimed to inspire and engage students, offering them a glimpse into the world of scientific research and innovation.
