Chennai: A Parliamentary Internship Programme aimed at providing exposure to public policy and parliamentary functioning has been announced.
According to the notification, the internship offers an opportunity for individuals interested in understanding legislative procedures, policy formulation and parliamentary interventions.
The selected interns will contribute to areas including preparation of Private Member Bills, Zero Hour questions, debates under Rule 377, policy insights and inputs for parliamentary speeches, besides assisting in other parliamentary interventions.
Eligibility for the programme includes postgraduate students in their second year or candidates who have completed postgraduate studies. Preference will be given to candidates with academic backgrounds in Law, Public Policy, Governance or Social Sciences.
Applicants are expected to possess strong writing and research skills, along with a good command of the English language. Knowledge of Tamil will be an added advantage.
The internship is a paid programme and will be conducted for a duration of three to six months at the office of the Member of Parliament in Delhi.
The last date for submission of applications is May 15, 2026.
