Ramanathapuram/Udumalai: The physics and economics papers in the ongoing Class 12 public examinations of the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations were largely easy, though some questions made it difficult for students to score centum, according to feedback from candidates across Tamil Nadu.

Students from Udumalai said most questions in the physics paper were straightforward. Kavisukan, a student of a matriculation higher secondary school in Pethappampatti, said the one-mark questions required thorough preparation, while the two- and five-mark sections were relatively easy.

Another student, Madhusree from a school in Komangalamputhur, said the questions were manageable and she completed the exam without anxiety, even though the three-mark questions were application-based.

Sukanya, a student from Udumalai, said some one- and three-mark questions were slightly difficult but the rest of the paper was easy, expressing hope of scoring good marks after practising through model examinations conducted in school.

Students appearing for the economics paper also described it as easy. Satishkumar from Udumalai said the one-mark questions were very simple, though a few compulsory questions required more effort.

Students in Ramanathapuram district also described the physics exam as easier than expected, though a few questions in the two- and three-mark sections posed challenges.

Lakshana, a student of a matriculation higher secondary school in Ramanathapuram, said most one-mark questions were easy, but a compulsory question in the three-mark section made it difficult to secure full marks. She expected to score around 95.

Jason Francis, another student, said the five-mark questions were simple and most questions were from the textbook, enabling students to finish the exam early and review their answers.

Teachers also echoed similar views. Muralitharan, a teacher from a matriculation higher secondary school in Ramanathapuram, said the paper was generally simple, but slight changes in numerical questions and formula-based compulsory questions in some sections could make scoring centum difficult.

However, with 30 marks allotted for practical examinations, many students are expected to secure between 85 and 95 marks in physics, he added.
