Puducherry: Pondicherry University (PU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Calabria, Italy, to strengthen academic collaboration through faculty and student exchange programs.

The agreement was exchanged in a ceremony at Pondicherry University by Prof. Victor Anandkumar, Dean - International Relations, and Prof. Laura Corradi, MoU Coordinator from the University of Calabria, in the presence of Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Dr. Kamalaveni, and Dr. Aashita.

The University of Calabria, established in 1972 and located in southern Italy, is a leading public university recognized for its research-driven academic programs across disciplines. The institution has a strong international presence and fosters partnerships worldwide.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Anandkumar highlighted the significance of the MoU in the context of strengthened bilateral ties between India and Italy. Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. Tharanikkarasu underscored the strategic importance of the partnership in facilitating joint research initiatives and interdisciplinary cooperation.

Prof. Laura Corradi expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing the University of Calabria's commitment to global academic engagement.

The MoU is expected to facilitate research collaborations, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and cross-cultural academic opportunities for students and faculty from both universities.
