Teachers are truly the biggest asset!
we are delighted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our educational journey, which began in 1999. the united infotech training center was founded in 1999 to equip engineering students with essential skills. in the first decade, we trained 12,000 students in computer skills. subsequently, we established our college of engineering, which has now been operating for 15 years. today, six educational institutions function within the same campus.to elevate the education standard of our country to an international level, an educational institution should be a place where students can find answers to their queries. this means offering courses in various fields such as engineering, arts, and sciences within the same campus. this approach enables the effective dissemination of multidisciplinary knowledge as emphasized by the national education policy. students can easily collaborate on projects from different departments within the same campus.special training: many first-generation college students from rural areas come with dreams of solving societal problems. these students often prioritize addressing these issues over economic pursuits. by focusing on societal challenges, many of these rural students become entrepreneurs. therefore, our educational institutions provide targeted training to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who attended government and government-aided schools, enhancing their self-confidence.we encourage students to tackle small problems in subjects like math with the aid of computers, much like progressing through levels in a video game. in the first year, students solve approximately a thousand problems. in the second year, they advance to more complex problems. by the end of three years, having solved around 3,000 problems, students develop the skills to address contemporary societal issues in their final year.international citizen: with the rise of globalization, graduates now have opportunities to work in different countries, making today's students international citizens. hence, it is crucial for students to acquire relevant skills while in college. if we do not stay updated with global advancements, we risk of becoming outdated.compared to international educational institutions, indian institutions must adopt a proactive approach. in my opinion, the true asset of an educational institution is its competent teachers, rather than its buildings and laboratories.-shanmugam, president, united educational institutions, coimbatore.uit.ac.in
