Instagram reels craze lands student in hospital

chennai: a 16-year-old student from madhavaram, chennai, sustained severe injuries after a dangerous stunt on a moving electric train went horribly wrong. the student, attempting to film a reel for instagram, was thrown off the train after colliding with an electric pole. he is currently receiving treatment in intensive care.a hotel management student from a private college in parimuna was involved in a life-threatening accident on october 9 while traveling by electric train from perambur to tiruthani with friends. during the journey, the student, aged 16, decided to hang from the train's steps in a reckless attempt to capture a video for social media. encouraged by his friends, who filmed the dangerous act, he repeatedly leaned out of the train.as the train passed between royapuram and washermanpet, tragedy struck. the student, leaning too far out, hit an electric pole and was violently thrown from the moving train. he suffered serious head injuries and lay unconscious in a pool of blood as his horrified friends feared the worst.the railway police were notified, and the injured student was rushed to stanley hospital, where he received emergency care. although his condition was critical, the doctors stabilized him, and he has since been transferred to a general ward. in a moment he came to concisousness, the student reportedly expressed regret for his actions, admitting his mistake to the medical staff.the korukkupet railway police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
