MoSPI announces Nationwide Surveys in January 2025
delhi: the ministry of statistics & programme implementation (mospi), through the national statistics office (nso), will launch several key surveys across india starting january 2025. these include:nss 80th round: focused on social consumption-health (jan-dec 2025), comprehensive modular survey on telecom & ict skill (jan-mar 2025), and education (apr-jun 2025).periodic labour force survey (plfs): generating monthly, quarterly, and annual labour force estimates (jan-dec 2025).annual survey on unincorporated enterprises (asuse): providing annual and quarterly data (jan-dec 2025).to enhance precision, the sample design has been modified to generate district-level estimates, alongside all-india monthly labour force metrics. districts will now serve as the fundamental sampling stratum. mospi will oversee national and state estimates, while state governments will produce district-level figures.data will be collected by trained nso officials using e-sigma-equipped tablets, employing scientifically designed sampling methods. the survey will comprehensively cover households and enterprises across the indian union, ensuring confidentiality of data for policy planning purposes.mospi urges the public to cooperate with survey enumerators, emphasizing that collected data will strictly serve state and national policy development.these surveys aim to improve data-driven decision-making at all administrative levels.
