TN Govt cancels appointments of 16 temporary teachers
chennai: the tamil nadu government has cancelled the appointments of 16 temporarily appointed teachers in adi dravidar welfare schools following a legal challenge. these appointments were made through the tamil nadu teachers recruitment board (trb).teachers were selected through direct appointment in schools across multiple districts, including vethiyarvettu (ariyalur), alangayam (tirupattur), abhishekagattala (tiruvarur), kottaimedu (karur), sundararajapuram (virudhunagar), irumpedu (chengalpattu), arasankuppam (tiruvannamalai), kallakudi (trichy), karisalkulampatti (virudhunagar), and palavakkam (chennai). additionally, similar appointments were made in schools in pampatipatti (trichy), manmai (chengalpattu), pasumbalur (perambalur), jadayanur (tirupattur), and punnam (karur).following a petition filed by employees of the school education department questioning the legitimacy of these temporary posts, the matter was taken to court. based on the court's ruling, adi dravidar welfare commissioner anand has issued an order cancelling the appointments.
