madurai: minister udhayanidhi stalin reaffirmed the tamil nadu government's stance against adopting the national education policy (nep) during a district development review meeting in madurai. he emphasized that the policy would not be accepted, echoing earlier statements by the chief minister.minister udhayanidhi stalin, while leading a review meeting on district development at the madurai collectorate, reiterated his refusal to implement the national education policy (nep) in tamil nadu. the meeting was attended by several key officials, including ministers murthy and thiagarajan, special schemes implementation secretary tares ahmed, and madurai collector sangeetha, along with local administrative heads.during the meeting, a petition was submitted by ilayaraja, an international athlete with a disability, requesting employment. representatives of the persons with disabilities welfare association, including bhupathi, manikandan, and sivakumar, also urged the establishment of a multi-purpose center for persons with disabilities in madurai.addressing the media after the meeting, minister udhayanidhi stated, "we have consistently opposed the national education policy. the chief minister has already responded to union minister dharmendra pradhan's suggestion, emphasizing that the nep is not suitable for the welfare of our students."the minister further noted that during his previous visit to madurai, he had addressed pending issues related to district development projects and urged immediate resolution of any delays. he reaffirmed the state's commitment to transparency and progress, pointing to the chief minister's previous remarks on industrial investments.
