Veer Gatha 4.0 inspires 1.76 Crore students, celebrates 100 national winners

delhi: the fourth edition of project veer gatha, an initiative by the ministry of defence and ministry of education as part of republic day 2025 celebrations, witnessed a remarkable response with 1.76 crore students from 2.31 lakh schools participating nationwide.launched on september 5, 2024, the project encouraged students to pen essays and paragraphs on topics such as gallantry award recipients, rani laxmibai, the 1857 first war of independence, and tribal uprisings. these themes deepened their understanding of india's cultural and historical legacy.schools conducted local activities, while gallantry awardees engaged with students through interactive sessions. after evaluations at district and state levels, 4,029 entries advanced for national-level assessment, culminating in the selection of 100 "super winners." divided into four grade-based categories, each winner will receive ₹10,000 and the chance to attend the republic day parade 2025 at kartavya path as special guests.since its inception in 2021 under 'azadi ka amrit mahotsav,' veer gatha has grown significantly, with participation surging from 8 lakh students in its first edition to 1.36 crore in the third. veer gatha 4.0 continues this inspiring legacy, fostering patriotism and civic values among india's youth.
