10-Day Research Methodology Course concludes at PU
puducherry: a 10-day national research methodology course for social science research scholars concluded at pondicherry university (pu) on thursday. the programme was organised by the centre for study of social inclusion (cssi) under the school of social sciences & international studies, in collaboration with the institute for educational and developmental studies (ieds), and sponsored by the indian council of social science research (icssr), new delhi.the valedictory function saw the participation of senior university officials, faculty, and research scholars. the event began with the university anthem followed by a welcome address by dr a chidambaram, head of cssi, who underlined the importance of inclusive and critical research methodologies.dr g prabakaran, course director and assistant professor at cssi, presented a detailed report on the course, which covered a range of sessions aimed at enhancing research skills, methodological awareness, and analytical tools among scholars.prof g chandrika, dean of the school of social sciences & international studies, praised the organisers for the initiative and called on researchers to pursue socially relevant and rigorous research.inhis special address, prof rajneesh bhutani, registrar (i/c), pondicherry university, stressed the importance of adopting multidisciplinary and decolonised research approaches, urging scholars to incorporate indigenous knowledge systems.vice chancellor prof p prakash babu delivered the valedictory address, commending the efforts of the organisers and encouraging scholars to contribute to evidence-based policy and social transformation through research.participants appreciated the academic depth and practical focus of the training. certificates were distributed by the vice chancellor and dr anish gupta, co-course director.the event concluded with a vote of thanks by dr prabakaran, followed by the national anthem. the initiative reaffirmed pondicherry university's commitment to advancing research excellence and inclusive academic discourse.
