DPIIT, Hero MotoCorp sign MoU to scale early-stage start-ups in mobility, clean tech, deep tech
new delhi: the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (dpiit) on tuesday signed an mou with hero motocorp limited to support and scale early-stage start-ups under the company's innovation accelerator programme 'hero for startups'.under the startup india initiative, the partnership will focus on start-ups working in future mobility, clean technology and deep technology. selected ventures will get exclusive access to hero motocorp's global r&d facilities in india and germany, its dealer and supplier network, and expert mentorship. start-ups will also have the opportunity to work on paid proofs of concept, enabling successful pilots and market exposure.dpiit joint secretary sanjiv said the collaboration would help fast-track product-focused start-ups addressing india's mobility challenges. “by connecting industry experience with grassroots innovation, we aim to accelerate the journey from idea to impact, especially in emerging technologies and tier 2/3 markets,” he said.hero motocorp executive chairman pawan munjal said the company views itself as a nation-builder aligned with the prime minister's vision of viksit bharat 2047. “india's vibrant start-up ecosystem is key to building a self-reliant and globally competitive bharat. this partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit,” he added.the mou was signed by dpiit director sumeet jarangal and hero motocorp global innovation portfolio lead utkarsh mishra in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.the partnership aims to foster innovation-led industrial growth in line with the goals of make in india, atmanirbhar bharat and viksit 2047.
