DU confirms 71,366 UG admissions in Round 2; third list, mid-entry schedule released

new delhi: the delhi university (du) on friday confirmed 71,366 undergraduate admissions by 6 pm under the second round of seat allocation for the 2025-26 academic session. it also announced the schedule for the third round and mid-entry window under the common seat allocation system (csas-ug).among those admitted so far are 136 orphans and 942 single girl children, as du continues to implement its inclusive admission policies.a total of 31,046 students have frozen their allotted seats, while 36,663 have opted for an upgrade.the fee payment deadline for the second round has been extended until 11:59 pm on august 1.as per du data, the second round saw 24,843 fresh allocations and 27,314 upgrades, following 43,741 upgrade requests after round one. the first round had offered 93,166 seats against 71,624 available ug seats across 69 colleges and 79 programmes. a total of 62,565 candidates had confirmed admission in the first round.admissions are being conducted based on cuet-ug scores, category reservations, programme-specific eligibility, and candidate preferences.the third round begins with the upgrade and preference reorder window from 5 pm on august 2 to 4:59 pm on august 3. the third allocation list will be released at 5 pm on august 5. colleges will verify and approve applications from august 5 to 6. the fee payment deadline for this round is august 7.the mid-entry window will remain open from 5 pm on august 8 to 4:59 pm on august 10. candidates who missed earlier rounds or were rejected can apply by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹1,000. they can also edit subject mapping or correct document-related issues during this period.vacant seat data will be displayed at 5 pm on august 8 ahead of mid-entry.the third round will also include performance-based courses such as hindustani music, karnataka music, percussion, physical education, fine arts (bfa), and ward quota admissions. the allocation list for these will be declared on august 13. seats must be accepted by august 17. the fee payment deadline is august 19.candidates are advised to regularly check the official portal admission.uod.ac.infor updates.meanwhile, classes for the new academic session began on friday for both first-year students and those entering the fourth year under the four-year undergraduate programme (fyup).
