Five juveniles get three-year jail for attempted murder in Coimbatore

coimbatore: five boys, all below the age of 17, were on monday sentenced to three years of imprisonment by a juvenile court here in connection with an attempt to murder case dating back to 2024, police said.according to investigators, a group of eight boys allegedly attacked a 16-year-old with weapons including a sickle and a knife at kamaraj colony in peelamedu-udayampalayam area last year, leaving him seriously injured.following investigations, peelamedu police arrested five minors and sent them to a juvenile reform facility. a case under attempt to murder and other relevant sections was registered in the juvenile justice board.after hearing the case, juvenile magistrate arun kumar awarded three-year imprisonment to each of the five boys, officials added.
