chennai: tamil nadu chief minister m k stalin on saturday urged teachers to inculcate rational thinking in students, encouraging them to ask questions like “how and why.”addressing a school education department function, the cm said students must be taught about equality, social justice, and civic sense. “introduce good role models for the students and you be a role model yourself. ensure casteist and gender discrimination tendencies do not surface in students,” he added.stalin highlighted the improved infrastructure and quality of state-run schools, noting that government school students are taken on tours abroad to broaden their knowledge. he outlined welfare initiatives, including the cm's breakfast scheme and rs 1,000 monthly assistance for college students.referring to technology and ai, the cm said students should be guided to access appropriate content without becoming complacent, understanding the difference between human thought and technology. teachers should also educate students on ethics, honesty, alternative energy, and mental and physical health.citing examples of social media content on critical thinking by some teachers, he encouraged creative methods to help students learn.the event, mupperum vizha, marked teacher training, foundation laying for new buildings in 243 schools across multiple districts, and construction of a new tamil nadu headquarters for the bharat scouts and guides at an estimated rs 277 crore. stalin also inaugurated buildings worth rs 94 crore in 59 schools and distributed rs 10,000 cheques to 142 students who scored centum in tamil in 10th and 12th board exams.deputy cm udhayanidhi stalin, school education minister anbil mahesh poyyamozhi, ministers kn nehru, cv ganesan, ma subramanian, chennai mayor r priya, and top officials attended.
