JNUs two-day Aravalli Summit concludes; to be held annually
new delhi: the two-day aravalli summit organised by jawaharlal nehru university (jnu) concluded on tuesday, with the university announcing that it will now be held as an annual event.the summit, hosted by jnu's school of international studies (sis) as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, featured discussions on india's role in shaping the global order, economic growth, climate diplomacy, and technological innovation.external affairs minister s jaishankar delivered the inaugural address on monday. the event, themed “india and the world order: preparing for 2047,” was organised in collaboration with the ministry of external affairs and the chintan research foundation.sessions explored topics such as india's potential to become a usd 35 trillion economy by 2047, advances in medicine, space and automation, and the global impact of the indian diaspora. discussions also highlighted india's civilisational identity, soft power, and its evolving role as a rule-maker amid global uncertainty.the second day opened with a session on “reimagining the global order: the indian imperative,” featuring former chilean ambassador jorge heine, seoul national university dean seong-ho sheen, and former indian envoy sanjay kumar verma.nobel laureate prof. manjul bhargava spoke on india's contributions to mathematics, including the concept of zero, the numeral system, and influences on the fibonacci sequence and pi.the valedictory session, chaired by jnu vice-chancellor santishree dhulipudi pandit, discussed india's transition as a responsible global power.
