Mandaviya to chair 84th AGM of workers education board tomorrow

new delhi: union labour and employment minister dr. mansukh mandaviya will chair the 84th annual general meeting of the dattopant thengadi national board for workers education and development in the capital on wednesday.the meeting will review the implementation of the workers education scheme and discuss initiatives for workforce development. senior officials from the labour ministry, trade union representatives, employer organizations, and other stakeholders will attend.established in 1958, the board operates through 50 regional directorates, focusing on training programs for organized sector workers while raising awareness among unorganized and rural workers about social security and labour welfare schemes.inresponse to changing workforce needs, the board is conducting 'shramik chaupals' and awareness-cum-registration camps to facilitate worker enrollment in government welfare schemes. it is also collaborating with institutions to enhance skilling, reskilling, and upskilling efforts.further, the board is in the process of securing awarding body status from the national council for vocational education and training (ncvet), aiming to strengthen vocational education and training.
