Oppo unveils Apex Guard to raise hardware and software quality standards
new delhi: oppo on monday announced apex guard, a new technology suite aimed at delivering next-level quality across its smartphone hardware and software, reaffirming its focus on durability, long-term performance and stringent testing standards.unveiled at the company's global r&d hub at binhai bay campus, apex guard integrates quality controls from early research stages through full-device validation. “quality is the foundation of everything,” said grus shan, director of manufacturing at oppo, adding that the initiative aims to enhance reliability and extend device lifespan.the suite focuses on three areas—robust design beyond everyday usage, longer product life, and compliance exceeding global testing standards. oppo said it has developed high-strength materials such as ultra-high-strength steel and am04 aerospace-grade aluminium alloy, along with new structural solutions to protect devices against drops and water exposure. the company also highlighted its silicon-carbon battery technology, which it claims offers an additional 400 charging cycles for extended longevity.apex guard also incorporates software enhancements under coloros 16, including a unified animation system, chip-level frame sync and power-efficient sensor processing. oppo said long-term aging simulations of up to 72 months ensure sustained smoothness.the company added that expanded facilities at binhai bay campus would further strengthen its testing capabilities across materials, communications and device performance.
