Over 27,000 DU admission forms sold on first day

new delhi: brimming with zeal and enthusiasm, over 27,500 students queued up at various colleges in the national capital for admission forms for under graduate courses in delhi university, on the first day of its 15-day admission process. long queues of students and parents awaited at all the 16 centres. 'a total of 27,610 forms were sold. we expect that the sale will go up to one lakh mark in the next 14 days of the process,' gurpreet singh tuteja, deputy dean student's welfare said. only 800 filled forms were submitted on the first day. young aspirants from across the country started thronging the centres from the morning in quest of their 'dream college' and their favourite subjects. having secured high percentage in the 10+2 exams, many of them were confident of selection, while some with relatively lower marks were seen wondering about their fate if the cut off goes high. 'i have come from dehra dun. i want to get admission bcom (hons), but i am not sure that i will be able to get admission in colleges like kirori mal as their cut off is expected to go very high,' vikram thapa, who got 75 per cent in his icse exams, said.
