Pondicherry University celebrates 41st Foundation Day, highlights NEP 2020 and Viksit Bharat vision

puducherry: pondicherry university celebrated its 41st foundation day with vice-chancellor prof. p. prakash babu outlining the institution's milestones and future goals aligned with nep 2020 and the viksit bharat vision.inhis address, prof. babu congratulated faculty, staff, scholars and students for positioning pondicherry university in the global landscape of research and higher education. he paid tribute to the university's founders for their role in establishing a premier centre of learning contributing to national development.he emphasised the importance of implementing viksit bharat to build a skilled, innovative, and self-reliant nation, as envisioned by prime minister narendra modi. prof. babu also lauded the university's successful adoption of the national education policy (nep) 2020, guided by education minister dharmendra pradhan.highlighting future directions, he announced plans for upcoming convocations, expansion of international collaborations, and development of off-campuses at yanam, mahe, karaikal and lakshadweep. he stressed the need to enhance infrastructure and digital transformation to foster a modern global learning environment.prof. babu expressed pride over the university's naac a+ accreditation, the inauguration of an international convention centre, and the recognition of 28 faculty members among the world's top 2% scientists by stanford university.student enrolment has risen to 9,544 this year, with numbers expected to exceed 10,000 next year, he said. the celebration saw the participation of senior officials, deans, faculty, and students.
