RRU marks 150 years of Vande Mataram with mass singing, cultural tribute
gandhinagar: rashtriya raksha university (rru) launched the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of the national song “vande mataram” in line with the ministry of culture's directive to mark the occasion from november 7, 2025, to november 7, 2026.the event began with a mass singing of the full version of “vande mataram” by students and faculty at the university campus, led by vice chancellor prof (dr) bimal n patel, pro-vice chancellor prof (dr) kalpesh h wandra, and registrar (i/c) dr dharmeshkumar prajapati. participants also joined the live screening of the main celebration from new delhi's indira gandhi indoor stadium, attended by prime minister narendra modi.a stirring instrumental performance by the gujarat police music band and a vocal rendition by students marked the cultural segment of the event. prof patel described the collective singing as a reflection of india's unity and cultural spirit, noting that “vande mataram” symbolises the first proclamation of cultural nationalism.the raksha shakti school also organised a similar singing event to raise awareness among students about the song's historical and national significance.rashtriya raksha university, under the ministry of home affairs, is an institution of national importance dedicated to national security education and research.
