TN to launch Rs 40 Crore residential coaching facility for UPSC aspirants

chennai: tamil nadu chief minister mk stalin announced a rs 40 crore residential coaching facility in shenoy nagar, chennai, to support 500 upsc aspirants. the initiative, under the 'naan mudhalvan' scheme, aims to provide candidates with a competitive edge in the challenging upsc exams.stalin emphasized that the project is part of the government's broader focus on youth empowerment and skill development. the scheme has already led to improvements in upsc performance, reversing a decline in successful candidates. in 2021, only 27 candidates from tamil nadu cleared the exam, prompting the government to offer targeted support, including a rs 7,500 monthly stipend for 10 months to help with prelims preparation, and rs 25,000 for those who pass the prelims.this year, 57 candidates from tamil nadu cleared the upsc, 50 of whom benefited from the 'naan mudhalvan' scheme. a special felicitation event will be held at the anna administrative staff college on saturday to honor these achievers.
