UP CM Adityanath distributes scholarships worth Rs 297.95 crore to over 10 lakh students
lucknow: uttar pradesh chief minister yogi adityanath on friday distributed scholarships worth rs 297.95 crore to 10,28,205 students under the post-matric and pre-matric scholarship program, citing baba saheb dr bhimrao ambedkar on the importance of education for nation-building and youth empowerment.speaking at the lucknow event, the chief minister said, “until 2016-17, only 4.6 million students in the state were eligible for scholarships, but today, this number has risen to 6.2 million. scholarships encourage students to channel their energy for the development of society and the nation. we will not allow the future of any student, particularly those from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and other backward classes, to be compromised.”he congratulated students and parents for receiving the financial support ahead of diwali and recalled dr ambedkar's message that education is the key to self-reliance and societal contribution. highlighting government initiatives, yogi noted the role of 'abhyudaya coaching' programs in every district and said that over the past 11 years, schemes under prime minister narendra modi's guidance have benefited millions, lifting 60 million people in uttar pradesh above the poverty line.minister of state for social welfare (independent charge) asim arun also addressed the program, praising the chief minister's leadership and highlighting the department's achievements.
