Vidal Health, Serum Institute partner to expand HPV vaccine access via digital platform

chennai: vidal health, india's second-largest third-party administrator (tpa), has announced a strategic collaboration with the serum institute of india (sii) to enhance access to the human papillomavirus (hpv) vaccine through a digital-first, cashless programme. the initiative, which begins on october 1, aims to support national cervical cancer prevention efforts.the programme, offered on vidal health's platform, will provide an end-to-end experience — from booking appointments and giving consent to certification and follow-up reminders — with no paperwork. it also enables corporate employees to get vaccinated either at workplace camps or partner clinics.“healthcare is shifting from reactive to preventive. our partnership with serum institute marks the beginning of a vaccination programme that equips individuals and organisations with digital convenience, while reducing long-term healthcare costs,” said sanjiv bajaj, chairman and md of bajaj finserv, the parent company of bajaj finserv health, which owns vidal health.adar poonawalla, ceo of sii, said the tie-up would “bridge gaps in awareness and access” and help deliver the hpv vaccine more efficiently and at scale.neetha uthaiah, whole time director, vidal healthcare services, added that the initiative would reduce hospitalisations and out-of-pocket medical expenses, while strengthening preventive healthcare.cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in india, with over 75,000 deaths annually. the hpv vaccine, manufactured by serum institute under the brand cervavac, is regarded as a crucial tool in reducing this burden.
