IASA Diwali Festival Brings Joy and Celebration to San Antonio

The India Association of San Antonio (IASA) hosted its grand Diwali Festival at the Phoenician Event Center on Sunday, bringing together nearly 800 guests for an evening of lights, laughter, and cultural celebration.It was a proud moment for the community as The Honorable Gina Ortiz Jones, Mayor of San Antonio, graced the event as Chief Guest, alongside Guest of Honor Mr. Karthik Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer of Gov2Biz.com.Mayor Jones shared her fondness for Indian cuisine—especially pani puri—spoke warmly about her journey and accomplishments as Mayor, and highlighted her ongoing plans for the San Antonio community. She later joined the audience on the dance floor, dancing with joy and embodying the true spirit of Diwali celebration.The evening began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. Distinguished regional leaders and representatives from partner organizations were welcomed with respect and appreciation.The event featured colorful cultural performances, including vibrant and energetic dances by children that captivated the audience. Families and friends reveled in the festive atmosphere, enjoying delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies along with traditional Diwali sweets.Guests also participated in fun activities and joined in community dancing, filling the hall with laughter and excitement. As a token of gratitude, IASA distributed sweet boxes to all active members and sponsors.IASA President Mr. Rajaguru Paramasamy presented trophies and mementos to the Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, sponsors, and special guests, including the Mayor, recognizing their contributions and partnership in making the event a grand success.The organizers extended heartfelt thanks to all sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for their continued support.
