Envision 2025: Indias Energy Festival Returns with Ground Zero for Net-Zero Theme
chennai: envision 2025, india's premier energy and sustainability festival, kicked off its third edition today at iit madras research park (iitmrp). hosted in partnership with the india energy storage alliance (iesa) and the ministry of new and renewable energy (mnre), the event runs until february 1, 2025, under the theme ground zero for net-zero. this edition aims to unite local innovations and global technological advancements to address the climate crisis and accelerate india's journey towards a sustainable, net-zero future.the event was inaugurated by iit madras director professor v kamakoti, alongside key figures including iitmrp ceo nat malupillai and iesa founder rahul walawalkar. notable climate activist sonam wangchuk also participated in a special dialogue on sustainable development and energy innovation.the three-day festival features expert sessions, panel discussions, and workshops focused on critical energy themes such as solar and wind energy, electric mobility, green hydrogen, energy storage, and climate finance. key dignitaries, including sudeep jain, additional secretary - mnre, and halima hollan from the british deputy high commission, also addressed the attendees.inhis inaugural speech, professor kamakoti emphasized the need for sustainable scaling solutions, urging academia, industry, and stakeholders to collaborate towards achieving net-zero goals. iitmrp ceo nat malupillai highlighted the pressing need to address climate change and underscored the role of technological advancements in sectors like solar, wind, and energy storage in achieving india's climate commitments.this year's edition brings together over 700 stakeholders, featuring 50+ expert speakers, 14+ critical energy themes, and the second edition of the “pitch to win” competition, showcasing innovative climate tech solutions from startups. the festival promises to catalyze collaborations that bridge the gap between ambition and action on the road to a sustainable energy future.
