Govt. launches Intra Circle Roaming service to improve connectivity

delhi: the ministry of telecommunications has introduced a new service enabling bsnl, airtel, and reliance jio users to access each other's mobile towers in areas with weak or no network coverage.the central government has rolled out an intra circle roaming (icr) service aimed at providing uninterrupted voice calls and internet connectivity for mobile phone users. this service allows users of bsnl, airtel, and reliance jio to seamlessly switch to another provider's network in locations where their own provider's signal is unavailable. to facilitate this, the digital bharat fund (dbf) has financed the installation of mobile towers across 27,836 sites. these towers will be shared by all three providers, ensuring 4g and voice calling services continue without disruption. the initiative is part of the government's effort to enhance connectivity across the country and improve mobile services for consumers.
