IIT-M Pravartak and ENAC launch Aviation Safety Management Course with Airbus support

chennai: iit madras pravartak technologies foundation has partnered with l'ecole nationale de l'aviation civile (enac), a french university, to offer india's first master's program in 'aviation safety management'. supported by airbus, this two-year course aims to strengthen safety protocols in india's growing aviation sector.targeting aviation industry professionals, the program will develop safety managers to enhance and manage safety performance across air transport systems. given the sector's complex nature and evolving regulations, the course emphasizes safety communication, leadership, and assertiveness to address the industry's unique challenges.scheduled to begin in january 2025, the course will be capped at 30 participants, with the registration deadline set for december 15, 2024. classes, including monthly in-person sessions led by enac faculty, will provide a blend of regulatory education and hands-on projects. dr. m.j. shankar raman, ceo of iitm pravartak, underscored the growing need for such specialized training in aviation safety amid rapid industry growth.prof. v. kamakoti, director of iit madras, highlighted the collaboration's potential to positively impact every passenger in india, affirming the institute's commitment to meeting safety and operational challenges as air travel demand surges.interested professionals can register via the digital skills website at iitm pravartak.
