chennai: rashtriya raksha university (rru) and the cell for ipr promotion and management (cipam) recently organized a training of trainers (tot) program focusing on the enforcement and adjudication of intellectual property rights (ipr). the workshop was inaugurated by prof. (dr.) bimal n. patel, vice-chancellor of rru, who underscored the need for greater public awareness and effective implementation of ipr laws by law enforcement agencies. he advocated for comprehensive ipr education, emphasizing its importance across various fields, including engineering.the keynote address was delivered by shri hasmukh patel, ips, managing director of the gujarat housing board, who discussed the fundamental concepts of ipr and its evolving enforcement landscape in india. he highlighted the importance of balancing national security with innovation through effective ipr practices.the program featured expert discussions on challenges in ipr, investigative techniques, and prosecution processes. notable speakers included ms. preeti from the trade marks registry, dr. nidhi hriday bush of gujarat national law university, and others. the event attracted active participation from gujarat police officers and researchers. in closing remarks, dr. anand kumar tripathi emphasized the role of police in combating counterfeit goods and fraudulent practices, reaffirming rru's commitment to enhancing ipr awareness among law enforcement personnel.
