Regional workshop on NEP 2020 implementation for teacher education held at PU

puducherry: the school of education, pondicherry university (pu), in collaboration with the national institute of educational planning and administration (niepa), new delhi, organized a regional consultative workshop on implementing the national education policy (nep) 2020 to transform teacher education in the southern region.the workshop focused on the demand and supply of teachers and the crucial role of universities in producing competent educators. discussions also emphasized institutionalizing the integrated teacher education programme (itep) as an independent initiative within the school of education at pondicherry university.at the valedictory session, prof. sreekala e, dean of the school of education, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of structured teacher education reforms. prof. k. tharanikkarasu, vice-chancellor (in-charge) of pondicherry university, in his valedictory speech, addressed faculty and students on the evolving needs of teacher education.prof. pranati panda from niepa lauded the workshop's insightful deliberations and their potential impact on policy implementation. dr. amit gautam, also from niepa, delivered the vote of thanks.the event witnessed participation from teacher educators across southern india, facilitating meaningful discussions on strengthening teacher education in alignment with nep 2020.
