3 arrested in Rajasthan for forging documents to become doctors
jaipur: three men were arrested in rajasthan for allegedly securing internships in government hospitals using forged foreign medical graduate examination (fmge) certificates, officials of the special operations group (sog) said on thursday.additional director general (sog) vishal bansal said the accused had completed mbbs degrees abroad but repeatedly failed the fmge, a mandatory exam for foreign-trained doctors to practice in india. despite failing multiple times between 2022 and 2024, piyush kumar trivedi of dausa allegedly obtained a fake certificate for rs 16 lakh with the help of devendra singh gurjar and shubham gurjar, part of a larger forgery network.using the forged documents, trivedi secured national medical commission approval and an internship at government medical college, karauli. investigations revealed that devendra and shubham had also used fake fmge certificates to complete their own internships — devendra at government medical college, dausa, and shubham at rajiv gandhi hospital, alwar.“preliminary investigation suggests this is not an isolated case. the accused facilitated others through a criminal network,” adg bansal said. authorities are now tracing the wider network involved in preparing fake fmge certificates and intermediaries who may have helped candidates obtain internships or postings with forged credentials.
