Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Campaign Concludes at JIPMER Karaikal
karaikal: the valedictory function of the swasth nari sashakt parivar campaign, inspired by the prime minister's vision of “swasth nari - shashakt parivar abhiyaan,” was held on october 2 at jipmer karaikal.the two-week community-based initiative, launched on september 17 under the guidance of dr. vir singh negi, director, jipmer, aimed to promote women's health and family well-being. the campaign featured a series of medical outreach activities, including cervical cancer screening, bone density tests, and screening for communicable and non-communicable diseases across karaikal.the programme drew an encouraging response, benefiting 2,268 individuals, including 1,558 women. key highlights of the campaign included:cervical cancer screening with pap smear: 86 beneficiariesbone mineral density scanning: 132 beneficiariesawareness programmes on women's health in colleges: 942 participantsschool-based health education sessions for adolescent girls: 372 participantsat the valedictory function, dr. kusa kumar saha, dean, jipmer karaikal campus, felicitated the team led by dr. nanthini saravanan, officer-in-charge, department of obstetrics and gynecology, who coordinated the campaign. dr. nanthini presented a detailed report summarizing the activities and outcomes of the initiative, which successfully advanced women's health awareness in the region.
